There is something I have recently noticed in abundance in my Poshmark closet…
Tell me if any of these comments sound familiar:
“I LOVE your closet- come check out mine!”
“I see that you love Free People too! I have some for sale if you want to make an offer!”
“Will you check out my closet please?”
These are virtually harmless. However, for veteran Poshers (or newbie rule followers) they might come across as spam or as shameless promotions.
I never really had hobbies growing up… unless you count daydreaming. I was really good at that!
During school, I was far from athletic. Although I dabbled here and there in a few sports, I never committed for too long.
Then there was the time I decided to join band and picked up the trumpet. I immediately put it back down because there was NO WAY I was going to a band festival and playing in front of people.
I have no regrets about not continuing in sports- I would not have gone pro or received a scholarship (not being negative- just being a realist)… Sometimes I wish I had stuck with band but maybe gone with the piano or something more useful. If you are a party and there is a piano in the corner you can always sit down and start playing- you are sure to instantly have an audience and probably a few admirers. Although the trumpet is a powerful, amazing instrument, there has never been a scene in a Hallmark movie where a dude starts playing Christmas Carols on the trumpet and gets the girl. Anyway…
So here I am in my thirties…
I have never been a cutesy girl.
I do not wear the color pink, I HATE glitter, and the idea of sitting around with friends painting our nails makes me want to gag.
So what the heck does this have to do with Poshmark shipping?
Well, I have done my share of shopping on Poshmark and the fabulous packaging I have encountered has been quite intimidating! If you are like me and “cute” does not come naturally, it can be a bit overwhelming! The adorable wrapping paper- thank you cards- burlap bows- gingham accents- charms- the beautiful handwriting- and the FREE GIFTS!
I will never live up to this pinterest inspired standard!
If you started to have a panic attack just thinking about it- this post is for you!
Let’s talk about packaging and shipping!
One of the most coveted statuses to achieve on Poshmark is becoming a Suggested User, or what most refer to as being an SU.
Here is a quick recap for those who are new users to the app:
Basics of the Suggested User Program
- Suggested User status is given to sellers who are outstanding Poshers in the community. These users (theoretically) follow the guidelines in what they sell in their closet and how they conduct their business. That is the program in a very small concise nutshell but you can read my full commentary on the subject in this article The Real Deal: Becoming and Being a Suggested User.
The benefits are huge. If you don’t already know, having people follow your closet is key to making sales. Yes, you can have tons of sales with just a few followers, but the more you have obviously gives you more exposure.
Here are a few benefits if you are wondering if it’s worth it:
