Never Forget a Poshmark Customer

Never Forget a Poshmark Customer

Often I will run across a Poshmark username and it just looks soooo familiar. I hate when I cannot remember why! Then all these scenarios run through my head…

Did they make a crazy offer before?

Did this person buy a huge bundle?

Wait, they gave me a host pick didn’t they?

If you have been selling on Poshmark for a while OR if you have a horrible memory like myself… this is for you!

I am going to share with you my way of never forgetting a Poshmark customer again!

Some of you may already do this and a few of you may slap your forehead because the solution is so simple!

I used to do things the hard way.

I tried to keep a spreadsheet of the usernames of customers. This way I could search the spreadsheet and if they had purchased before I could thank them for coming back and add other personal touches to the thank you note. However, this quickly became too overwhelming, I could not keep it current.

As you probably know, searching previous sales within the app is virtually impossible. Especially when you have been selling for 3 years or (more for some of you).

So what can you do?

Here is a quick guide to never forgetting a Poshmark customer again!

The Solution

1. SEPARATE EMAIL ADDRESS. You should have an email address specifically for Poshmark emails. It makes things so much easier! Create a new email just for Poshmark correspondence. You can update your email address by going into your in-app dashboard and select  “my profile”. There you will see your current email and you can change it.

2. SET YOUR EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS. Make sure that you are receiving Poshmark emails. In the same dashboard go to “Notifications” and select which emails you want to receive. I receive “Announcements”, “Daily Emails”, and “Seller Price Drops”. You can set your account to receive more or less as you wish. You will of course automatically get emails when you receive an offer or make a sale.

3. DO NOT DELETE. Never deleted your emails.

4. SEARCH. From here on out you will have emails for sales, offers, etc. The username of the other Posher (who purchased or made an offer) is typically in the subject line of the emails. All you have to do is put the Username in the search and it will bring up your interactions! It won’t show comments (unless you have it set to receive email alerts for new comments).

So now you can always have an easy reference for repeat customers or if you want to reference previous sales! Easy as that!!

What do you do to make sure you don’t forget a Poshmark customer?

Do you do anything special for repeat customers?

XOXO

  1. This is a great idea. Oddly enough, I do not get emails about offers, though I do get emails about everything else and I do get push notifications for offers on my phone. I’ll have to check and see if I have the most recent version of the app. Great tip!

    1. Nancy, also check your spam if you haven’t already. I have accidentally marked a Posh email as spam and then a bunch randomly started to go there! So I check it regularly because of it.

  2. OMGOSH Elle!

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t…I’m feeling like a big old walnut right now! I have the email addy. I have never deleted any emails. Of course, my notifications are set. I even have keyword folders
HOWEVER! I didn’t even ‘think’ to use the SEARCH function when I’m looking for something. ROFL!! I scroll and scroll and open and open and read and read. I think I need a drink. OK…I forgot! I don’t drink. Maybe a nice warm cup of tea while I sit here and admire your thinking cap

Good one PFF, good one! 🙂

    1. Kaye, thanks for that chuckle! Normally I try to post more informative or opinion driven posts but I HAD to get this one out there. Let’s not forget that it took me years to realize I could do this- don’t for a second believe I have been searching this way any longer than… Ummmm 2 weeks?! 😂

  3. Absolutely adore your posts!! This is a great tip! Thank you for all you do on Posh too – you are one of many closets that make me love this place! @bustingbeauty – Lisa Ann

  4. That’s a great idea! I wish I made enough sales to warrant a second email. :/ lol! Sometimes I have a hard enough time keeping up with one!

I’ve only had one return shopper but I have a general policy that returning buyers will get a little extra gift from me, most likey a small Posh compliant item that I didn’t want to take the time to list. Maybe a small pair of earrings, a bracelet bundle, a necklace…something like that. I do that with all bundles, too.
